'Gastroesophageal reflux disease, or GERD, is a digestive disorder that affects the lower esophageal sphincter (LES), the ring of muscle between the esophagus and stomach. Many people, including pregnant women, suffer from heartburn or acid indigestion caused by GERD

I have most if not all symptoms of gastroparesis. And several complications of it as well

It appears I have most if not all symptoms of gastroparesis. I also have several complications of it as well. Such as low blood pressure and difficulty with urination. How should I approach my doctor to get tested?

There is a test for Gastroparesis. You eat some food that that has radio active markers(usually eggs) then they take special X-rays.

I have this! Not fun at all I hope you don't have it but there's a test called gastric emptying study just ask to have that done. Have you have an endoscopy lately? Usually if you have this you'll have undigested food in stomach that's why I got the test done.

I haven't had an endoscopy done except for the one I got during my gallbladder removal surgery last august 2015. they found 2 stomach polyps but my stomach was empty at the time bc of surgery so i dunno if that would help them discover anything.

Sam Kenny
it doesn't always show that is still ask for a gastric emptying study sometimes it can happen when the gall bladder is removed. Do you throw up undigested food from past days? That's a big symptom and when I first had it I was full after eating a bite of food.

Melissa Stockwell
I don't vomit, but I do get frequent nausea and I do get really bad backing up of things i eat and drink to where I get severely bloated and I can't even urinate. Like none of it moves.

Sam Kenny
Like bloated to the point of almost looking pregnant? I get that too :( it's very painful I'm sorry you're going thru this I've run into doctors that don't even believe it's a real disease! Have you talked to your GI?

Melissa Stockwell
Oh wayyy pregnant!! like 6-7 months pregnant.

Melissa Stockwell
Yes my GI told me to suck it up, it is just acid reflux, and to keep taking my prilosec. Like that's the only fucking thing I can do.

Melissa Stockwell
sorry i am so upset my life sucks bc of this.

Sam Kenny
Yeah I've had people ask me when I'm due lol. sadly it's sounds like you need a new GI are you close to philly? Mine is awesome!

Melissa Stockwell
I am 6 hours or so from you haha. Clearrr up north of pittsburgh.

Sam Kenny
Damn :/ idk of any there but I would definitely look for a new one! Acid reflux does not cause bloating from what I know :( and if the meds aren't helping it's probably something else.

I have delyaed gastric emptying (a form of gastroparesis) and take Domperidone for it. You might check out the GASTROPARESIS FB page...

Melissa Stockwell
My emptying isn't always delayed, but sometimes it gets so bad that everything i eat and drink will back up and nothing will come out for up to 10 hours and i get severely bloated and very uncomfortable. like my digestion just stops. :(

Melissa Stockwell
I have told so many of my doctors about this but they always ignore me!! I am so frustrated.
