Does anyone do smoothies to help with reflux? If so, what kind, and what kind of blender do you have?

I use a vitamix magic bullet and my smoothie contains mixed frozen fruit, 1/2 a fresh banana, Vega one protein powder and almond milk. It’s my one dependable food item.

I’ve just been reading a lot and I guess smoothies really help a lot. I almost bought a black and decker blender today but wanted to do more research. Thank you!

I used to use a blender and had no issues, but the top part was plastic and it got weak from the dishwasher and eventually cracked. I just use my daughters vitamix now.

I don’t know what it is about the smoothies. I have one a day. I’d have too if the protein powder wasn’t so expensive lol.

I have a nutra ninja, it has a blender, a food processer, and individual smoothie cups. I used to do smoothies a lot but I never used a recipe I just put what ever sounded good in it at the time.

I juice and I mix celery 1/2 of green apple, spinach, collard greens and cucumbers. It’s very refreshing.

I mix some protein powder in with almond milk and a frozen banana and not only is it delicious, it’s awesome for your stomach.

That looks kind of big, I wonder if there is a smaller container in an organic store that I purchase it, just to try it out. Did you buy that in the store or in the Internet? & if it's in the Internet, what site?
Steve David
We got it in store at The Vitamin Shoppe. They do online sales as well though.

Honestly a small sample of it would probably not suit you. It’s an acquired taste for sure with it being all plant based. By about the 3rd shake I was totally hooked tho.

Just be cautious no to mix sweet fruits and sour fruits. It’s really not good for the stomach. Plus - watermelon and melon shouldn’t be mixed with other vegetables.
Nina Houck
I have noticed that about watermelon. But thank you for the heads up!!

Nina Houck there are lists you can find if you google it, what’s a bad mix and what’s good. It doesn’t concern directly reflux but some combinations ferment (I hope it’s the right word) in the stomach and then the reflux can get worse.
Generally shakes is a great idea! I make them a lot, especially in bad days. Good luck!
