What are some natural remedies for gerd that people have tired?

What are some natural remedies for gerd that people have tired? I've heard apple cider vinegar can help has anyone tried that? Looking for ideas until I can see a doctor again.

Do you take any other acid suppression medicine, gavason, carafate or supplements since you are off PPI completely?

I eat a banana in the morning everyday since last week when I stopped my PPI. Maximum 2 bananas a day.

Kasey King it gives me terrible mucus in my throat after I eat it. My symptoms must be different to yours. I have LPR. I've read that bananas are very mucus forming.

I Put the apple cider vinegar in a glass of apple juice. I can't drink it just water.

Baking soda in water, gas x or gavascon over the counter, diet eliminate spicy , red meats which are harder to digest, tomatoes sauces are acidic, avoid onions garlic common triggers, drinking alkaline water.

Yeah red meats aren't too bad for me but spicy things, tomatoes sauces and onion garlic is a no go including citrus like orange juice. But baking soda in water is something I have around the house that I can try! :).

Oh man :( yeah I heard the apple cider vinegar is gross in water too. A lot of things seem to help but taste disgusting.

I had been on RX Nexium 40 mg 2 x a day for years. I started taking plant based supplements 2 months ago and no longer need Nexium!

Yep its true, no one really needs medicine. Im living proof. I was so bad puking up to ten times daily for six months. Thrown on ppi, had allergic reaction. Read up on natural gerd remedy. Banana. No more gerd.

Yeah as I got older the gerd got worse and I was told after my last test that the cells in my esophagus are starting to change and that's going to become barrettes esophagus more than likely soon. And I want something other than constantly shoving Rx down my throat so this helps a lot :)

No cigarette alcoholic beverages. Eat smaller meal and avoid lying down after meal. Last meal 2-3hr before bed time.

If you don't already, then diet change helps. Avoid any common trigger foods which includes vinegar.

Tried apple cider vinegar. Caused me the worst reflux pain I've ever had in my entire life. Never trying again. I also tried apples, but that always upset my stomach and gave a little burn. I tried bananas and the texture of it turned my lower GI into a garbage disposal unit. Baking soda had me bloated and burping for days so that didn't work. It felt like the acid was being pushed up to my throat. Never happening again. All natural cures are all severe triggers for me.

Tried boiled guava leaves with a little bit of ginger. Boiled atleast 10 pcs leaves of guava and a little bit of ginger for 10 minutes with 2 cups of water. Then strain it with a clean cloth or handkerchief before you drink.
