I'm not a vegetarian, but in my opinion it would make it worse. Your body needs a little bit of everything.

Nicole Mcdonald
Why do you think it would make it worse?

I support vegetarians, but in this case the body needs to heal itself, i think that no one-sided diet is good. Raw is the worst.

I was vegan for 8 months, nothing changed. It might work for someone else.

Since I've been sick I've really gone off meat and eat more veg than ever and steamed fish and chicken. Food just does not appeal to me anymore.

Yes, no meat or dairy since June 11 and I am feeling much better, nothing fried, only baked or grilled, I use almond milk, whole grains, and easy carbs, it has made a huge difference, been studying plant based foods and the benefits, and I have to say I don't miss cheese milk and meats, I am still eating eggs and I've had some grilled shrimp so I'm not totally vegan, in the future I plan to have a chicken breast and salmon, but im done with red meat and dairy products for sure.

I've been a vegetarian for 6 years and haven't found that I've got any better.

It's actually the opposite for me. I think the higher fiber messes with my digestive system. YMMV but I went back to eating meat and processed foods more often because I've found that I have less bowel issues when I eat things with less fiber.

I’m vegan and it helped so much. Dairy, eggs, and meat are very hard to digest. It did not cure me but it helped. There are plants you will have to definitely stay away from still such as oranges, tomorrow’s, certain spices, etc. You can have a complete diet that is plant based and it great for healing. However you must educate yourself before you transition to ensure you eat enough of what you need. I did not go vegan for health reasons I did for the animals but I experienced a lot of health benefits. Again, it will not cure your gerd, but it can help.

I've been a vegetarian most of my life and tried to go vegan for a few months thinking that might help...but it didn't.

I think it might be infectious type issue. Partially. Also taking tums helps heal the GERD issue and it is so low cost. However only take one within a few hours or it can throw off your body chemistry. Just my thoughts.

Theiss Yessssss soooo much ! Been a vegetarian 2 years next month and haven’t had a gerd attack since I take Tums every once in awhile but helped so Much.

Rick Martin
Tums are progressive to me. Take as needed. Than less are needed over time.

Nope tried it for a year and decided I would rather eat what I like and take the ppi meds.
