'Gastroesophageal reflux disease, or GERD, is a digestive disorder that affects the lower esophageal sphincter (LES), the ring of muscle between the esophagus and stomach. Many people, including pregnant women, suffer from heartburn or acid indigestion caused by GERD

Is there someone here who is completely healed from GERD?

Is there someone here who is completely healed from GERD? Cuz iI'veheard that GERD is not cure-able. Is it true? and I've seen so many people having a problem with weaning off their meds like PPI or H2 blocker like several days after not taking their meds they will suffer from bad flare ups and every possible symptom. so basically all of this is just devil circle right?

Oh..i am a member here too😁 and it's me that she's talking about.. i took pariet for 1month, then nexium 40mg for 6 months then stop without rebound. My doctor was the one who told me to stop since i don't have Gerd and esophagitis symptoms already..my chest and throat are very much fine like before i had it😊 but yea, i still have gastritis so still have symptoms in my stomach.

How do we know it's not gerd ?

Esha Max
Through endoscopy. They will loom at your esophagus down to the GE which is gastro esopageal junction to the stomwch and down to duodenum. Doctors can usually tell its gerd if the gastro esophageal junction is having erythema or redness the GE junction redness will likely tell them gerd if it s inflammes

Racquel Tandaan, are you still experiencing symptoms in your stomach? How is the tightness feeling on your upper abdominal? I'm still having it since we last spoke.

Racquel Ann
I don't have the tightness feeling now, but still feel uncomfortable.

I am interested in going off Nexium.

Just go off it then. Watch what you eat.

Don't do it cold turkey, you'll get rebound reflux. Wean off it slowly.
