Has anyone ever taken omeprazole while pregnant?
Until I can get into my gi has anyone ever taken omeprazole while pregnant? I had finally started to be able to not take it and only take zantac before becoming pregnant but now I'm 10 weeks and miserable with daily symptoms.

I stopped omeprazole when I’m pregnant ,bad move as the sudden stop leads to rebound .I had v bad reflux and I continued to take omeprazole till I delivered .It takes at least two weeks for the medicines to work so during that period ,it’s really bad .

Not omeprazole but a different PPI. I stopped taking it when I found out I was pregnant and my reflux was horrible. The nurse at my OB’s office said I could start taking it again so I did. I worry now as there is research saying long term PPI use can be harmful but I have no idea if it can be harmful to fetuses. My son is over a year old and perfectly healthy though!

My gi wanted me off it before due to the effects especially since my mom had kidney failure so we were trying to get me off it but I'm thinking I'm going to have to go back on it.

I don’t know know how I would have made it through my pregnancy without a PPI, honestly.

I took it from around 12 weeks during my pregnancy. I tried to to 10mg daily rather than 20mg just to take the worse symptoms away. X

I took 20 mg daily while pregnant with my third. I went off it with my first and second. My third I did a ton of research in advance, spoke to doctors and specialists and we all decided it was better to continue with the meds. Kiddo is now 6 years old.
